On Monday, New York Jets receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested approximately 5:15 a.m. for a DUI. Now I'm am a huge football fan (go St. Louis) and having been a fan of Braylon Edwards in previous years...(not as of late) I've noticed that his level of common sense has decreased drastically. Now I'm not sure if its due to one too many Dolphin players laying the pipe when he cuts across for those drag routs, or just the Dade county Ross beard over heating the lower equilibrium of his brain causing him to make just restarted decisions, but when you are in the final year of a contract and you are suppose to be the #1 in a sad core already. You should find your self home a lot more often just for safe keep. Being that this is you second incident Mr. Edwards.. and your first got you booted from Ohio courtesy of King James him self don't expect Mr. Ryan and the commissioner to go easy on you. The league has a program in play for any player to be picked up at any point in time by a private driver for situations such as this. Now obviously had it been my self or any ordinary Joe, we would have been a little more morally compelled to get the car home by any means necessary. Mr. Edwards decides to not think and gets busted with a .16 alcohol content, double over the legal limit of New York state law. Now although he is not in direct violation of the code of conduct rule of the NFL, it is quite possible he will play against the 2-0 Dolphins on Sunday, but he is in direct violation of the leagues substance abuse policy and he will be expected to be smitten with fines out the wah-zoo. So Mr. Edwards.. what now. Do you tighten up and lead the team to a play-off birth like last year.. or do you continue to grow the sad ass beard that makes ya chin strap not fit right... What is wrong with NFL players.... I know..... the GLORY

With the tourist fueled economy of South Florida there is extreme competition between clubs/ venues to book the biggest industry names they can afford in order to attract as many people as possible. This is the only way they are able to try and stay ahead of their competing neighbors. Unfortunately this lends itself to a local scene that shuns the future rising talents we have right here in our own back yard. There is no place that consistently provides a stage for our local, up and coming artists to be seen or heard. We plan to change all of that by bringing you "The Rising", a place where everyone can go, and local artists can shine. There is currently a renaissance like movement happening in the hip hop community. We have the chance to put our local talent at the forefront of that, all it takes is a little support from anyone who enjoys live music...

Each event will provide a group of 3 to 4 MC's the chance to perform for their peers and let people hear and see them work their magic. The first show is Wednesday July 28th. Performing live will be Saheed, Murph, LMS, and Ghostwridah, all who are true masters of their craft. On top of these performers we also have two of the most talented DJ's South Florida has to offer: DJ Aliyo and DJ K-Razor. "The Rising" will also be featuring a different artist (photographers, graf artists, etc) each time we come together. Hialeah's own Derick G will be showing off his artwork the first night as he will be producing a site specific photography installation at Transit Lounge...

In addition there are a number of sponsors who will be providing giveaways. Shoe Gallery will be offering a pair of exclusive kicks to be raffled off during the show, Scratch Academy (DJ academy) will be offering free DJ lessons, Last Rights will be giving away Tshirts and that's not all! Enough said, I think it's safe to say you can't afford to miss this show!

Panelists Announced for Upcoming Atlanta Music Producer’s Event

JACKSONVILLE, FL—June 15—Panelists for the upcoming Atlanta-based music producer’s event, The Sessions Remixed, have been announced as including Karol Russell (Russell Law Firm); Rel (Trak Atiks Music); Simon Horrocks (Affix Music); Jon Wilkes (Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ drummer); Lo (Playmaker Music); and Babyboi95 (Nappy Boy Digital).

• Capitol Records artist, Cali Swag, promoted their new single “Teach Me How to Dougie”. LPMG dedicated valuable time and planning to conduct an effective, strategic marketing plan that would combine promotions for the song and dance; ultimately deciding the best tactic to use would be mobile marketing. They started by using Miami’s very own DJ Epps from Power 96, they then located some of Miami’s finest promotional models & dancers to do this dance on a mobile dance truck. While the music blasted throughout the streets, the dancers were not only doing the “Dougie” dance inside this truck, but also teaching people on the street how to do the dance. The mobile dance truck, along with hype-man, DJ Epps, brought much attention, resulting in streetwalkers running up to the mobile truck taking pictures and videos as it moved slowly throughout South Beach’s busy streets, including the very popular Washington Avenue and Ocean Drive. When the truck would stop outside of clubs, everyone in line would join the dancers and start to do the “Dougie” too.
• Also on South Beach was the Gucci Mane Team, again, powered by LPMG. Team members actively walked the streets passing out flyers and promotional give-a-ways. This served as a major positive impact for the artist and his fans as all streetwalkers and party-goers were eager to take home all that was being offered. Gucci wanted to show Miami that he was back for good and ready for action; he performed at The W Hotel, King of Diamonds, Club Pure, Mansion Nightclub and The Best of the Best Concert. Fans left these venues with promotional souvenirs like towels and t-shirts; all printed by LMPG’s graphics team.
• Trina wrapped up the glorious weekend with her album release party at Karma Nightclub on South Beach. The event was sold out. Fire marshalls showed up to the venue in attempts to shut it down. She still got on stage and performed four of her newest singles from the album Amazin titled, “White Girl” ft. Flo-Rida & Git Fresh, “Dang A Lang” ft. Nicki Minaj & Lady Saw, “My B*tches” and “Currency” ft. Rick Ross & Lil Wayne.

What is happening?

Ok I am making this post because everyday or almost everyday this crosses my mind. Where are all the strong and smart BLACK WOMEN. The ones who know right from wrong and really think about what they wear before they step out of the house. If I see a woman with no clothes on in public this doesn't attract like it may attract 85% of the male population. I see this as a lack of a greater education and a need for attention from the significant male. Only if his cash flow is right in some instances. If I saw my mother act this way I would be embarrassed so why bring her back to my mother so she can smirk her face. If we as men of any race took a little more pride in whom we slept with would this change the way our women carry themselves. If we as men were more enthusiastic about books, arts, and success then hot cars, inner city drugs, and latest fashion would this change anything. Or at least if we could balance all of this out and still appear divine at the end of the day. I say all of this because of a Memorial Day video of a young (unfortunately insanely drunk) young black girl arguing about a 4 piece nugget @ McDonalds as every male around her laughs and pushes her to act her worse. At the timeline of 4:37 the police officer took the initiative to slam this woman. Imagine brothers all around if this was your lady, sister, mother, cousin, whomever how would you feel. Would u still push her on or pull her away to save the embarrassment or watch her drinking levels. Obviously, down here in south florida the holiday is no longer celebrated for what it needs to be celebrated for but at least have fun responsibly.
